Transformers: Age of Extinction is an upcoming 2014 American science fiction action film based on theTransformers franchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and stars Mark Wahlbergin the lead role. A sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the film takes place four years after the invasion of Chicago.

Like its predecessors, the film is directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The screenplay is written by Ehren Kruger, who served as screenwriter since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This is the first film in the series to feature an entirely new cast of human characters and the first to feature the Dinobots. Returning Transformers include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Brains. The film is set for release on June 27, 2014, in IMAX and 3D.
MOVIE STORY
A mechanic and his daughter make a discovery that brings down Autobots and Decepticons - and a paranoid government official - on them.
If that plot synopsis sounds a little thin, there's a reason behind it. Unlike some of the previous movies, Transformers 4 is playing its cards close to its metal vest. Speaking in interviews, star Mark Wahlberg has promised that we're in for a lot more than we suspect from the trailers. There's more going on here than just letting us watch Optimus punch Grimlock in the face (though that's definitely happening too).
There are hints in the trailer, of course. Things have definitely changed a lot since the last Transformers movie. In Transformers 4 Optimus Prime and his Cybertronian seem to have gone underground, after a concerted effort by the governments of Earth to hunt them down. We thought we didn't need them anymore. We were wrong.
